Cryptocurrency News: Cryptocurrency prices were mixed late Wednesday following the Federal Reserve rate hike and interest rate forecast next year. X Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried was arrested in the Bahamas Monday night , and now faces criminal and civil charges from the Justice Department and SEC. SBF was scheduled to testify in front of the House Financial Services Committee on Tuesday prior to his arrest.

Cryptocurrency Price Action Bitcoin briefly leapt to $18,356 on Wednesday before retreating back to $17,800, up 0.3% from its Tuesday price. The world’s largest cryptocurrency traded above $21,000 prior to the FTX collapse in early November.
Ethereum rose to $1,350 by midday Wednesday before falling back to $1,310 by the afternoon. The #2 crypto is rising against early-November highs and traded above $1,600 prior to the FTX crash.
