Number of Cryptocurrency ATMs Installed Worldwide Surpasses 39,000 Cryptocurrency – The Crypto News

This week, the number of cryptocurrency automated teller machines (ATMs) operating globally passed the 39,000 mark. Since January 2017, when the number approached 1,000 machines, the number of crypto ATMs has increased by 3,925% since then. Crypto ATM numbers have grown exponentially in the past 23 months since September 1, 2020, when there were less than 10,000 machines worldwide. There are now 39,011 crypto ATMs installed in 77 countries In the first week of August 2022, the number of ATMs dispensing digital currency operating around the world crossed the 39,000 mark. In fact, in 77 countries, 614 crypto ATM operators installed 39,011 cryptocurrency ATMs, according to metrics recorded by coinatmradar.com. On January 1, 2017, there were approximately 969 crypto ATMs across the globe and since then, installs have increased by 3.925%. Geographic distribution statistics show that North America leads with 95.1% of all crypto ATMs globally with 37,081 machines. The United States controls 87.9% of all crypto ATMs installed globally with 34,299 machines. The percentage of crypto ATMs in the rest of the world operating today is around 4.9%, with Europe capturing 3.8% of that number. When it comes to North America, Canada controls 6.3% of the entire world, or 2,461 crypto ATMs in total. Of the 39,011 crypto ATMs listed on coinatmradar.com, Data shows that 38,998 of these machines support bitcoin (BTC). However, 33,056 of the aggregated total also support alternative crypto assets. Litecoin (SLD) is scattered across 32,466 machines, ethereum (ETH) is supported by 29,324 devices, dogecoin (DOGE) is held on 16,132 machines, and bitcoin cash (BCH) supports 13,801 crypto ATMs. The Best Crypto ATM Operators and Manufacturers of 2022 The best crypto atm operator in the world in terms of number of operational machines globally is Bitcoin Depot with 17.7% of the global total or 6,896 crypto ATM devices installed. Bitcoin Depot is followed by Coincloud (5,643 machines), Coinflip (4,124 machines), Bitcoin of America (2,339 machines), Bitstop (1,969 machines) and Rockitcoin (1,781 machines). Genesis Coin is the best crypto atm manufacturer globally, as it accounts for 40.6% of current machines, while General Bytes is second with 22.8% of crypto ATMs manufactured globally. Crypto ATM makers Genesis Coin and General Bytes are followed by Bitaccess (15.8%), Coinsource (5.2%), Bitstop (4.9%) and Bytefederal (2.8%). Coinatmradar.com also tracks the speed of installed crypto machines over time. The web portal dedicated to crypto ATM statistics indicates that the speed is recorded by a gauge scale “calculated on the basis of the last 60 days, [while] the speed is calculated based on the last 7 days. On Sunday, August 7, 2022, the gauge indicates that 14.7 Crypto ATMs are installed per day at the current rate. This means that in about 67.27 days, the number of crypto ATMs installed worldwide is expected to reach 40,000 at this rate.
